This morning at 12:01am I was viewing the Sex and the City movie for the first time. May I just say that I want to see it over and over to re-examine the fifth character in the film, the fashion. From Proenza Schouler to Alexander McQueen, Carrie Bradshaw was dressed in some of the finest clothing of the season. Pat Fields did a wonderful job evolving each woman’s look. It was nice to see them from season to season as well. I have pulled some of my favorite looks from the movie to fawn over…I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

Print InterMix

May 29, 2008

With the weather becoming progressivly warmer, my urge to create a beautiful spring wardrobe has heated up. Here is my most recent design, a layered silk chiffon ruffle dress. I will be wearing it this weekend to my cousin’s wedding. I used two printed chiffons to create a distinctive look. The under layer of chiffon is much more playful while the top layer is sophisticated. It creates the perfect fanciful feeling that I was going for. I will be wearing this uber-fem dress with a suede bootie sandle to balance out all of the frills.

Florals were popping up and paints were being flung all over the Spring 08 runways. From Chloe’s over-sized painterly prints to Balenciaga’s romantic fleurs, both trends caught my eye. I thought that mixing the two trends into one print would be ideal… so I began my search. I came across my perfect painterly floral frock in the Chelsea Flea Market, made only more perfect by the price tag… $10. Thinking that flora is the way to go for Spring I also picked up this skirt (which will be worn as a dress) for $7 at a vintage store in Brooklyn.
